It Isn't an Image Generator. It's an Orchestration Engine.

Text, Video, Audio, Agents, Data

A Standard Library covers text, agents, audio transcription, video editing, lists, JSON and dicts, alongside image and video generation. Add Diffusers pipelines, Hugging Face models, and bring-your-own-keys. One graph can brief an agent, generate the frames, grade the video, and write the metadata.

Publish It Where the Work Happens

Publishing packs a workflow with its libraries, dependencies, and files into a self-contained bundle. Run it headlessly from a folder. Deploy it to Griptape Cloud as a Structure. Or install it into Nuke as a versioned gizmo that your compositors run from Nuke's own UI, with OpenEXR and OpenColorIO libraries handling the files and color.

A Node Graph Shouldn't Break When You Add a Node

Libraries Can't Break Each Other

Every library installs into its own isolated environment. Add a Diffusers pipeline, a Nuke library, and a community pack in the same session, and none of them touch each other's dependencies. No shared Python environment to corrupt, no reinstall after an update. The install you set up today still runs next month.

Your Workflow Is Code, Not a Blob

Workflows are saved as plain Python files. Read them, diff them, put them in Git, move them to another machine. Save As New Version keeps every earlier version on disk, and a project can pin the exact engine and library versions it was built against. The "final" file is never in question, and neither is what it ran on.

Your Agent. Your Model. Your Machine.

An Agent That Builds the Graph

Tell the agent what you want, and it builds the nodes, wires them, runs the workflow, and inspects the result. Run it on Ollama or LM Studio with a model that never leaves your machine, or point it at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Attach MCP servers for Blender and Maya, and it reaches into those tools too.

Any Agent Can Drive the Engine

Griptape Nodes runs its own MCP server. Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, or VS Code can connect to it and build, run, and read workflows directly. The engine is a tool other agents use, not just a canvas with a chat box.

Ship It. No Licence Lawyer Required.

Apache 2.0, Not GPL

Griptape Nodes is released under Apache 2.0, a permissive license with no copyleft. Build on it, embed it, and your own code stays yours.

Copyleft tools can require you to release your work under the same terms the moment you distribute it. Apache 2.0 never asks that, which turns a legal review into a quick yes.

Thirty Years of Studio Software Behind It

Foundry has built the tools behind Nuke, Katana and Mari since 1996 and has three Academy Sci-Tech Awards to show for it. Enterprise deployment comes from that world: an Admin Server inside your network as the single connection out, licensed seats from an admin dashboard, Cedar permission policies, and update lock-down.
